In the words of Yogi Berra, "When you come to a fork in the road, take it."
My husband and I did just that in September of 2008 when we meandered through Europe on a Rick Steves' Best of Europe in 14 Days tour!
We had the time of our lives! What a perfect way for us first-timers to get a taste of all that Europe has to offer. We sampled a smorgasbord of European sights, sounds, tastes, and smells in those amazing 14 days.
Why did we choose this tour?
- We wanted to see first-hand those European masterpieces that we'd read about all our lives, like the Mona Lisa, the Pieta, and the Sistine Chapel ceiling.
- We wanted to see the famous Eiffel Tower, ride the gondolas of Venice, and marvel at the Roman Colosseum.
- We liked the Rick Steves' Back Door travel philosophy and thought it would be a perfect fit for us.
- And it just sounded like so much fun!
Dave (our tour guide), Lou (our bus driver), and our 25 fellow travelers were absolutely delightful tour companions. This diverse group enriched our trip experience so much with their lively, fun camaraderie.
